JUPITER, Fla. – An estimated 400 pounds of marijuana washed ashore in Jupiter early Saturday morning, according to Chief Frank Kitzerow of the Jupiter Police Department.
Police were dispatched to the 3000 block of A1A after a fisherman discovered several burlap sacks that washed up on the beach, said Chief Kitzerow.
Jupiter Police discovered a total of eight burlap sacks containing 75 packages of marijuana.
The entire area and surrounding waterways were canvassed for additional sacks with negative results.
Federal agencies have been notified of the recovery for follow-up investigation.
